Laying the Foundation
Before Allan Bartelt started building homes, he worked in various trades in the construction industry. These jobs supplied him with invaluable experience when it came to understanding the intricacies of new home building. So much so, Allan was able to construct a house by himself—from the ground up. His mechanical ability, along with sheer ambition, paved the way for him to become a custom home builder in the Oconomowoc area some twenty-five years ago.
In 1982 the company began building homes in the model home market. But because of Allan’s experience in custom designing and then being able to build homes to the client’s exact specifications, he grew bored of building the exact same model time after time. Although Allan Bartelt is no longer involved in the company, the current Allan Builders, LLC was formed in 2006 to build on that foundation which is why the Allan Builders name continues to be one of the preferred builders in the Southeastern Wisconsin area.

Our approach is tried and true: We believe that building new houses is about building relationships. We want to get to know you and how you want to live—nail down the “must-have’s” and rule out the “that’s-not-really-us” options before we ever pull out any paperwork. Once you’re ready to build, you’re assigned a team of specialists, including a Job Site Manager, who works with you through every step of the building process. This means that even if you decide to make a last-minute change during construction or if you suddenly need some design ideas—no problem.
